What is Let’sChat?

Let’sChat is an innovative service that makes it easier to meet and connect with people in the real world. It offers an alternative to traditional dating apps and reaches far beyond the digital realm.

Thanks to digital technology, people today are more connected than at any other point in history. We have learned to use computers, phones and many other smart devices to communicate. We send information at the speed of light. Yet face to face, we are getting worse and worse at it.

And so the idea was born — Let’sChat

Imagine being able to approach anyone around you in an interesting, original and witty way — on the street, on the bus, at school, at the office, in a shop or a bar. You can do it face-to-face (yet still anonymously), completely safely and independently of any dating platform or social network.

Let’sChat has an ambitious goal — to bring dating a little way back, to a time before the digital dating era. Perhaps with some exaggeration, but mostly with ideals, we look back to the days when love and friendship did not start with a “swipe” and people were not hiding behind profiles or turning into goods on display.

So what exactly is Let’sChat?

At its heart is the Let’sChatka — a small business-card sized piece that fits in any wallet or pocket. The Let’sChatka has two parts: one that the giver keeps, and one meant for the person being approached.

There are endless ways to hand it over.

Using the QR code on each half of the Let’sChatka, both the giver and the recipient enter a chat room where they can communicate freely, safely and without disclosing any sensitive personal details.

Let’sChat works without registration, which lets you jump straight into a conversation using only the QR code on a Let’sChatka. The whole concept is designed to minimise barriers to communication while letting users keep a degree of privacy — all without compromising basic safety.

So what makes Let’sChat so unique?

1. 1Let’sChat is not limited by a registered user base — with some exaggeration, you can reach out to and connect with up to 8 billion people on the planet.
2. 2Let’sChat connects only real people from the real world. Let’sChat has no “fake” profiles.

Unlike traditional dating apps, Let’sChat is not built on algorithms, profiles or endless swiping. Handing over a Let’sChatka is also non-intrusive. It does not invade the other person’s space and creates no pressure to respond immediately. The other person has full control over whether they start the conversation or not. If they are not interested, they simply do not use the card.

In a sense Let’sChat can be seen as a “real-world swipe”. The difference is that, instead of quickly judging profile photos on a screen, the first impulse arises during an actual meeting between two people. This combination of a real-world moment and the digital conversation that follows is the foundation of the whole concept.

The goal of Let’sChat is to offer a simple, safe and original way to help people make new connections — without algorithms, without sharing personal data and without having to push through a long and often uncomfortable face-to-face conversation right at the start.
